We encourage our residents and businesses to utilize trusted sources of public health information such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Iowa Department of Public Health, We have increased the basic precautions taken by employees throughout the City organization, such as increased handwashing, sanitizing of surfaces, and staying home if sick. In addition, we are working to cross-train our staff on different functions and identifying additional measures we can take to protect the health and safety of employees and the community.
We are also continuing to develop and implement ways we can help residents do their City business while reducing interpersonal contact. We encourage residents to use the drive-through drop boxes to make their water bill payments rather than in person. Those drop boxes are located between City Hall and the Fire Station and also in the ATM drive-through lane at Bridge Bank. Payments can also be made over the phone with a credit card by calling City Hall at 319-624-3755 during business hours. Payments can also be made online through the city website. Please note that there is a fee for online credit card payments however, no extra fee for over the phone payments.
As the situation unfolds in the coming days and weeks, information will be shared on the City of Solon website, the City of Solon Facebook page and the new Nixle emergency notification system.
